Five innovative 5G antennas for outdoor deployments are featured in this short summary. For 5G applications, quality antennas are necessary for optimal reception and network performance. For applications where the use of fixed directional antennas are not possible or undesirable, high performance omni antennas are often required.

A combination of consistent RF performance across the bands and reliable gain figures are a cornerstone of many outdoor antenna applications. Along with robust design, omni antennas should be weatherproof to resist the elements. They should also be compatible with the wide range of 5G routers and radios in the market.

We have selected five innovative 5G antennas that meet the criteria. From world-leading manufacturers, these omni antennas combine excellent mechanical design with robust RF performance.

Innovative Antenna 1 – the AllDisc – a low profile 5G/4G dome antenna encompassing superior RF performance across the 4G/5g bands. The  AllDisc is a permanently mounted via stud at the bottom of the antenna through which the cable exits. It can be enclosure, vehicle roof or bracket mounted. For discreet, low profile applications requiring a single feed 5G antenna, the AllDisc is definitely worth considering.

Innovative Antenna 2 – the Medallion II – a low profile 5G NR MIMO antenna a permanently mounted rooftop, enclosure or kiosk antenna. It is housed in a white rectangular radome. Fed by two SMA cables for MIMO 5G operation, the Medallion II also has a GNSS option for positioning, ideal for mobile applications.

Innovative Antenna 3 – the RO600/71N –  a compact 5G NR outdoor omni antenna for pole/wall-mount. Housed in an UV-rated radome, this antenna offers exceptional RF figures across the bands from 617-7125 MHz. Ideal for 5G access applications such as smart metering, utilities and IoT devices, the antenna is comes with bracketry and is terminated in a N-Female connector. Innovative Antenna 4 – the MHO5GFRI – a compact outdoor omni antenna.With options for integrated N-Female or N-Male connectors, this antenna can be radio or pole-mounted. Measuring less than 27cm in height, this antenna is truly discreet for an outdoor omni and ideal for IoT and access applications where visibility is a critical consideration for deployment.

Innovative Antenna 5 – BMLPV5000 – a low profile 5G NR antenna with options for magnetic or permanent mounting. This antenna offers truly consistent wideband performance when mounted onto a groundplane. It is very robust and durable and mounts via a NMO connection to your choice of mount. Ideal for mobile applications and IoT deployments where a truly tough antenna is required.

LTE MIMO magnetic

LTE-MIMO-MAG 4G LTE MIMO magnetic mount antenna

The LTE-MIMO-Mag is a 4G LTE MIMO magnetic mount antenna. It is designed for fixed and mobile outdoor deployments where a 2-port 4G /LTE is required. Especially for applications, where drilling holes for permanent mount antennas is undesirable, the LTE-MIMO-Mag offers a compact and robust antenna solution.

With a gain of 3 dBi, the LTE-MIMO-Mag offers excellent RF performance and is fed by 2 x 3M cables as standard which are terminated in SMA-Male connectors. Other cable lengths and connectors are possible by request. The antenna base measures 70mm and the height is 100mm which is ideal in applications where long antennas are not  practical,  for example damage from low hanging branches onto vehicle roofs.

Low Profile 450 MHz Magnetic antenna

LP-MAG-450 Low Profile 450 MHz Magnetic antenna

The LP-MAG-450 is a low profile 450 MHz Magnetic antenna designed for UHF applications running between 450 and 470 MHz. Also suitable for LTE 450 MHz applications, this antenna is robust and durable and ideal for outdoor applications where long antenna whips are undesirable.

The magnetic base is 90mm in diameter and the overall height is just 180mm enabling excellent RF performance whilst avoiding the draw backs of long whip antennas including issues such as damage from overhanging vegetation and other impacts when vehicles are operational. Apart from mobile applications, the LP-MAG-450 is also suitable for fixed applications where a discreet and non-permanent antenna solution is required.

The cable length can be a maximum of 3.5M (other bases are available with longer cable runs) and the connector type can be ordered to requirement.
